Cigar tobacco, roasted herbs, and plummy dark fruit. Tannins are kept in check with the ripe fruit character. Don’t know why I have been gun shy about Taurasi. Amazing.

Wine of the night. This is why Aglianico is my favorite grape. Barely scratching the surface of this bottle. Pipe tobacco, roasted peppers, stewed blackberry and elderberry, and an amazing amount of tannin still. I will always remember this wine.

Stewed and dried black cherries, dark chocolate, mesquite smoke, black pepper, leather, roasted mushrooms, savory herbs, black currant, tobacco. Intense minerality on the finish, tastes much more volcanic than the nose portrays. Beautiful but needs a few more years as it tastes a little muted. Opens beautifully with time.

A great showing for this "2nd label".
Great black fruits coupled with chewy and beautifully coated tannins and this haunting smoky nose from the Aglianico grape.
It may not be at the level of their "Serpico" but still very impressive and punching way above its class...at least to my humble palate.

Hmmmm. Licorice heat on the nose, still had biting tannins and a clipped finish....maybe even a hint of brett.

Leather and barely ripe blackberries. A few years will do this wine well.
