This is not a showstopper wine. There is nothing here that makes you sit up taller in your chair, cock you head to the side and say whoa. But it is really complete, detailed, complex Burgundy at a great price. Sometimes I think the pursuit of the exceptional gets in the way of enjoying the merely classic expression of excellent terroir. I enjoyed this a lot.

Slight deeper ruby colour , narrower rim . Slightly woody nose at first, mineral , quite aloof. . Quite angular on the palate , but with a darker fruit profile , blackcurrant , blackberry , dark cherry notes . Quite gritty tannin , high acidity , quite a lot of structure. Good length and balance and actually fills out quite well on the palate . More masculine , more ‘Corton’, than the Jadot , more complex also . Now and over the next 10 -12 years .
