Dureuil-Janthial
Bourgogne Passetoutgrains
Bright, clear ruby. Shy (at first) nose of musty black cherry. Medium bodied palate of leathery cherry and birch. Not fruity by any stretch. Medium plus acidity and medium tannins make this a quintessential French food wine, a compliment to any place you’d normally take French Pinot Noir or Gamay. A perfect wine for rich fares of all cuisines. I’m upscaling my frozen pepperoni pizza.

Jan 30th, 2020Big fan of this wine. Very elegant and juicy but with great structure. 50% Gamay 50% Pinot Noir. Cherry pie, and pomegranate seed but with a bit of herbal, earthy kick. Fine tannin. Very approachable.

Jan 14th, 202190 pinot noir, 10 gamay from 50 year old vines in Rully. lithe and feral, redolent of porcini mushroom and cured meat, a faint red currant note joins in on palate. intensely extracted, fine tannins are suppressing its full potential right now, but i'd love to taste again in a few years. new oak is maybe a bit too apparent on the finish though. reminds me of a good haute cotes de nuits. #chalonnaise #passetoutgrain #burgundy
