a singularly unique Riesling from an organic, VDP producer. wasn't able to find vinification details, but i'm almost certain this is open barrel fermented and raised in used oak. it's quite luscious, but with that inimitable tartaric cut that Riesling does like no other. dripping with marzipan, butter, and crushed peaches. #drinkmoreriesling #rheinheissen #germany #riesling — 4 years ago
deep, brooding baby bandol that shines like amethyst for the price of quartz. subtle balm of oil cured kalamata olive, dried blackberry, cured beef and leather draw your nose deep into the glass. the palate delivers what the nose promises, joined by bay leaf, oregano and dank earth, framed by chewy tannin and understated acidity. sublime with braised lamb and root vegetables. #bandol #mourvedre — 4 years ago
bright and pretty, but with a subtly earthy dark side. redolent of red cherry and pink flowers, with some dried mushroom lurking beneath. the tannin and acid is perfectly married, with all the quiet tension that goes with matrimony. #bourgogne #pinotnoir — 4 years ago
this baby is a pretty pretty lady, and as close to Chambolle as i've had from Oregon. delicate aromas of little red flowers and red currant entice you to breathe deep and long. its lacy, ethereal texture alights on the palate with exceptional grace and poise, also giving currant and flower; joined by red cherry, fresh minerality and feathery tannin. the acid is precise and refreshing and the finish has considerable length. #willamette #pinotnoir — 4 years ago
