Nose of pear, and a bit of wax, and petrol. Semi-sweet, with ripe pear, honey, and apple. Medium finish.

What a sweetheart of a wine! Okay, so I admit, if I had a desert island wine it would come from this vineyard because the wines consistently show layered complexity and amazing depth of flavor together with gorgeous acidity that is the key to their aging potential.
#1989 was a year in which #botrytis set in quantity, but early, clean botrytis that gives an already spicy wine even more complexity and flavor--she's my pretty red Mosella! #Riesling #ÜrzigerWürzgarten #spätlese

Here is a wine that has that thing the #Moselaner call, "#Trinkfluss"...a wine you can drink rivers of...and still walk home! #1973 #ÜrzigerWürzgarten #spätlese

Didn't intend to open it this early but it was wet under the cap...wow. Opened it thinking the cork was bad but was very pleasantly surprised. Everything I Iove about other Dr Loosen offerings with the volume turned up on this auslese. Amazing balance of acidity and residual sugar. Young but really excellent now
