Much richer than ‘14, also more noticeable wood (tho they claim to always be pulling back on oak). Warm vintage=too boozy

Fleshy and young. Needs time for oak to integrate and soften

One of my all time favorite wines. I like this much better than Pingus. w/ Peter Sisseck at Victory Wine Group tasting.

Barrel sample of the 14 Flor at Pingus. Better get them early. Their Assistant Winemaker tells me Peter thinks the 14 vintage might be their best.

One of my favorite Spanish wines. Easier drinking than the massive Pingus.

Bold dry dark berry fruit, bitter chocolate, tar, slightly dusty, still robust tannin. Needed well over an hour of air to open up. Big, but balanced. Drink now (decant!) or continue to cellar for 5+ years. Optimal pairing for lamb.

When you open that wine you don't expect to like and it's delicious.
