Green gold and straw hybridized. Beer-like citrus with a yeasty touch. Lime, lemon seed, lemongrass, white boysenberry, brioche smidges. Silky with lemon oils, lime pith faint tangerine and lime zest, robust with creamy style of lemon marmalade.

From the always lovely lieu-dit Meix Chavaux. There is a ripe opulence that is seamlessly balanced by signature Roulot kinetic energy and drive. Ripe orchard fruit, lemon verbena, flinty minerals, saline and matchstick reduction that blows off with a sufficient decant. There is great cut and delineation even in the ripe vintage. But we should expect nothing less from the great Jean Marc Roulot. Finishes long and intense strutting its mineral backbone and impressive focus.

Light gold, clean and bright. Great nose. Notes of earthy pit fruit, white flowers, clay soil and river stones. Big and rich in the mouth with nice balance. Good finish. Has the nose and fruit of a great 1er cru but missing the weight and power.

From the Stone Barns Cellar... Linear and complex tingling the palate with lemon curd, white peaches, crushed stone and saline. Finishes with great length and tons of energy.

Pretty fruit at the front. The finish is a little abrupt with notes of butterscotch. Nice, but not as lovely as some of these. Maybe the vintage.

Lime, greengage, light minerality, salinity. Pure and refreshing, with bright acidity and very pretty fruit. Yummy

Light gold. Lemon zest, almond oil nose. Bright citrus, oily mid palate, mineral and almond finish. Layers of goodness.

Tasted blind chez Roulot, and of course it is an 04. Vibrant acidity, unfurling now past a tight reduction into an open, maturing mix of rich citrus, tea, spice, stone. Lovely and lucky

Light straw gold color. Nice weight in the glass. Citrus nose with notes of honeydew, spice and some gravel stone. Surprisingly fat and rich in the mouth. Ok finish. Lacking the strong acidity spine I was expecting. Not sure what to make of this.... will it get better with more age, is it in an awkward phase, will it improve with more air... the jury is out.
