Les Monts Damnés Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2024 “Les Monts Damés” pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with white flowers, grapefruit, star fruit, alfalfa, and cream cheese stuffed poblano pepper. There’s also this Double Bubble thing going on. Wild stuff. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. In a world of increasing ambiguity, I love that this is immediately identifiable as Sancerre. Drink now through 2034+.

Not my favorite vintage but still tasty juice.

Rough Capri sun like tropical on the nose and very disjointed needs a long decant. Day 2 the citrus and minerals emerged, bury these for 4-5 years but balance seems off in this particular vintage

A lil past it’s prime in a hot year but orange blossom wax cream and mineral still apparent

Beautiful Sauvignon Blanc

Vulgar display of power. Absurd stone drenched structure with effortless delicacy, shimmering acidity, citrus pith, apple skin, sage and chamomile woven around it. Plenty of life ahead

The 16 is concentrated and delicious. Needs time but showed similar to a good Dauvissat chablis. Sea salt, lemon zest, herbs and pear and easily balances out the alcohol.
