Gorgeous nose. Floral, soft, orange rind, sour cherry, mid season cherry, berry fruit, so vivid, sweet cherries, evocative and expansive, 14’s in a great spot. Tons of earth and mineral. Palate is elegant and pretty. Sappy and pure with nice force on the backend. Really lovely. The most Volnay of the Lafarge-Vial wines but also classically Chiroubles. Awesome.

Going into the decanter this had a cool, funky earthy note with distinctive aroma of burning vines, this since subsided. 😕

Nose is small red cherry and red currant with metallic-like minerals.

Palate has sweet cherry smashed onto slate, long finish. Very enjoyable, likely will be more open tomorrow.

24hr Update: Like a very different wine, nose is a little flat and hard to read today. Palate is slamming full of ripe cherry with a killer mineral backbone. Next bottles should be 2022+

Nose has very funky, tangy, deep berries, along with very nice granite minerality. Round in the mouth, with lots of tangy fruit on entry, but transitioning quickly to very clingy stony mineral notes that fade only slowly. Very soft and nicely balanced.

Terrifically complex and sweet fruit driven. Loads of spice on the nose. Wonderful freshness. Great wine.

That is superb. A new Beaujolais project from the hands of Frederic Lafarge. Glad. Had a chance to taste that today. 2014 first vintage. Avg 60 year old vines, 25% whole cluster, neutral oak, landing May 2016. This bottle was soft, balanced, very approachable for a newbie to Gamay.

Not for me. Rough and bitter-ish.

Very stern and closed on opening. With air, there is some nice cherry fruit, medium body, good structure. This seems to be built to age 10+ yrs rather than for early enjoyment 🤷🏻‍♂️
