Lucky enough to try a number of 2013 Drouhin-Laroze GC’s this week. Not the easiest of vintages but resulting wines are drinking very well at the moment. The Vougeot stood apart from the others as an identifiable style, somewhat more robust than the appellations closer to Chambertin.

Jan 22nd, 2021Profound: the nose, you can keep the glass at waist level & still feel like you are surrounded by flowers. Length, purity- makes me think older reviews of this vintage didnt properly decant or wine simply needed at least 10 yrs.

Jan 27th, 2018Had it December 2008.
Cherry and dark cherry too, mushroom, wet leaves, juniper, undergrowth herbs, irony.
Fairly muscled. Tannin slightly bitter. Balanced and ready now... Obviously it won't go off tomorrow 😁. Long, not super elegant, but you can tell has got that champion's(GrandCru) attitude.
