Every now and then I will break out a Bordeaux, usually with at least a few years in bottle. Inevitably I get something that is underwhelmingly aged in poor oak with rampant brettanomyces and sadly this is no exception. Ripe one/dimensional red fruit, dull oak, bacteria etc etc.....

Nice enough wine; concentrated, rich, ripe fruit, subtle oak but while not exactly dull just not very inspiring. Would I order it again? Probably not...., — 6 months ago
