Technically sound and classic in style, though it doesn’t quite deliver the excitement one might expect from this famed vineyard. On the nose, aromas of red and black fruits, violets, forest floor, earthy tones, subtle spice, and a touch of meaty savoriness. Mid-weight and silky on the palate, with an underlying stoniness. Elegant and admittedly enjoyable, but it honestly doesn’t fully showcase the pedigree of its origin, which aligns with my broader experience of this producer’s wines.

Solid CSJ, widely considered a Grand Cru equivalent. But for those who wonder if Fourrier and Rousseau’s CSJ’s are that much better to be more than double the price, the answer is yes.

Took about 10-15mins to open up in the glass and once it did it was layers of fruits and some earthy notes. It really seems like this producer really needs time in the bottle for the wine to reach its potential. #wheninparis

'08 Burgs were not high on most people's buying lists upon release but this Gevrey is delicate and sensual with all the finesse one expects from great Pinot--NICE!
