Domaine Berlancourt
Cuvée Les Champans Bourgogne Chardonnay
Day 2 notes. Still showing some wood as per usual for this cuvee. But there is so much mint, herbs and wet earth. So gorgeous. Salty as well. Palate is concentrated and elegant not showing any wood and has grand cru grip and structure. Amazing finish. Super pure. Long. Amazing wine. So complex and mineral.

Jun 17th, 2022Just an incredible wine. Huge nose. Vanilla extract, not woody at all, that good vanilla of high end whites, herbal, Meyer lemon, intense clear and airy minerality, so deep, enveloping like an ocean breeze. Apple spice starts to develop. Endless aromas and aromatic depth. 9.6 aroma easily. Palate is massive and intense but then so nimble concentrated and delicate. My god this is classy and easily 1er Cru level. The finish is endless. Just silky stunning. Insane structure, density and concentration. So pure. No hard edges. Stunning finish. The finish begins where you think it is going to end. Just a masterpiece. Unreal finesse. Such fleshy fruit but also pithy. Everything is in perfect proportion. Just gets better and better with air.

Dec 30th, 2020Not just any Bourgogne here, this is from Domaine Berlancourt and drinks miles above its simple appellation status. For 2011 the density and clarity in this are very surprising, not to mention the depth and tension. The nose shows plenty of oak upfront that over the course of a few hours mellows out, evening out with thewhite florals, minerality, deep citrus and juicy apple notes. Just a baby, this will go several more years easy. Keep an eye out for this one, got it from @Lyle Fass as its about the only place in the US to get it. #burgundy #chardonnay #berlancourt #meursault

1 person found it helpfulMay 1st, 2017Such solid white burgundy, at least at something like the village meursault level, but even higher. There's some richness and apparent oak here, but once it's open for an hour or so, the wine really comes together. Acidity perfectly balanced the richness, and savory mineral notes began to emerge.

1 person found it helpfulMar 17th, 2015Wide open and ripe. Mineral but more pear/Apple, custard, dense and flowery nose. Exotic nose. Big, ripe and rich. So pure. Shows the vintage. Amazing freshness but not super high acidity. I love this but totally different than the last few wines.

May 27th, 2016This needs 24 hours to breath but once it does you will reassess what Bourgogne is.

Mar 17th, 2015Pop and pour. I can only believe all my bottles of this were damaged. Sadly, like the previous experience, which was completely unlike any rendition of this wine I've ever had. Counterpoint: my wife said "I thoight this was off to start, but I really like it with some air." Drinkable, but to my palate, something is clearly off.

Aug 17th, 2023Ugh. Was hoping this would be different from the Equinces, but no such luck. This is a sloppy mess and absolutely nothing like any vintage of this wine I have had previously. Almost oxidized, but blowsy rich fruit and betrays its heat. A little better on the palate as the attack recedes. Drinkable but really not very good.
