Real de Asúa Rioja Tempranillo Blend

Ruby red with aromas of rich red fruits, sweet spice, smoke and cedar notes. On the palate flavors of raspberry, blackberry and currants with vanilla, tobacco, spice and licorice. Fine chewy tannins, long finish ending with fruit, sweet spice and toasty oak character. Nice, ok now but more time is better!

Really liked this one. Our first choice out of four premium tastings. Just a wonderful wine. Big berry burst, yet supple tannins and hints of leather, chewy.

Rioja. Ohhhh oh! Riojaaaaa, ohhhh ohhh oh! It's good. Really good. Sucks the life out of your mouth . It's like second hand smoke with the tobacco.

Deep color of purple and deep ruby
Earth, licorice, tobacco, cherry and dabs of vanilla and toast. More powerful and modern fruit expression, firm, fleshy and ripe tannins, excellent structure. Good acidity and excellent depth. Excellent length and precision on the finish. A bit young now, should be a beauty in 5-12 yesrs and age for a total of 25 years easy. 18 months all new French oak barrique from 70-80 yo vines.

2016- Real de Asua - CVNE. Stored at 55 degrees for six months, decanted for one hour, and served at 65 degrees. I do prefer 62 but I missed the mark. Ha ha. The bouquet is a perfume of lavender and vanilla. The palate begins with a smooth silky raspberry delight. It is very light on the tongue, yet opaque in the glass. The legs last forever! The palate develops into a tart, earthy, and smokey finish that drys out the lips and tongue. There is an after taste of graphite and slate as the lips begin to pucker!! Where’s my water??????

Still really haven’t found a Rioja that I do not like and this wine is no different.

Great aromas and flavors, wish the finish was longer. Good tannins, definitely a good dinner wine!

CVNE low end juice. very avg. a Total Wine mistake 😒.
