Sep 13th, 2024Popped and poured. The 2021 Chehalem pours a deep ruby color with a transparent core; no signs of particles or gas. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, bright, slightly under ripen strawberry, raspberries, a mix of organic earth and inorganic minerals, some dried green herbs and red flowers. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Alcohol is medium. The notes from the nose are confirmed. A good if not terribly exciting Pinot Noir. Drink now through 2031.

Aug 11th, 2023Light purple in color with a wide purplish rim.
Fruity nose of cherries, raspberries, strawberries, light tobacco, chocolates and black pepper.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and thin legs.
Dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, light oak, spices, tobacco, chocolates, coffee and black pepper.
Tangy finish with fine tannins and sour cranberries.
This is a nice and elegant Pinot Noir from Oregon. Fresh and fruit forward. Light and engaging.
Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel. A good porch wine. Will be nice to revisit it in a couple of years.
Easy drinking and good by itself or with food. I gave it a light chill, and paired it with fresh berries, cheeses and crackers.
100% Pinot Noir grapes were aged in French oak barrels (15% new) for 8 months.
13% alcohol by volume.
89 points.
$30.

Nose of ripe fresh pie.
Twigs and branches, blackberry bramble, breads tones, ripe fruit, bready tones, jolly rancher acidity, just a picker of tannins to round it all.
