2019 vintage. 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The good news is that I have another unexpected good experience with a Diam cork this week (Diam 5 in this case), praise the Lord! (and I would never have bought the bottle if I had known in advance it had a Diam cork). 2019 is one of my favourite vintages for Prieuré-Lichine, and the second wine is pretty good too. More Merlot-dominated and easy-drinking compared to the grand vin, but a most pleasurable Margaux for a very reasonable price (27 euros in their shop, I sell it a little cheaper even). Smooth and elegant, and another fine Bordeaux value. Abv 13,5%.

Very enjoyable left bank bottling for $35 on the shelf, if not pretty closed. Decanted for 2+ hours and was just starting to reveal itself, still somewhat shy after 4+. Blackberry, stewed mulberry, earth, coffee grounds, garden, and spice. Not overly ripe or concentrated with a subtle bitter balance. Curious to see what day 2 is like. Good value candidate for cellaring though I wouldn’t hate a bit more acidity.

Surprisingly good for a second wine in an tricky vintage. Gorgeous nose has cedar, roasted peanuts, cassis, purple florals, warm gravel. Nose whack of flavor up front, then lightens up as the palate progresses. A bit of gritty tannin in the finish. Would I prefer a bit more concentration and length? Sure. But this is quite nice.

Good BDX, but somewhat uneventful considering the 15 vintage was so awesome.

As others have said, this is just a solid Bordeaux for the price. Not gonna wow you, but the lovely mouth feel of light plums and herbs along with it being easy drinking makes for a nice experience.

Cassis, plum, fennel, pepper, soft but some tannins on the exit and a long finish

Turned a bit modern (blueberry cake notes) and sweet towards the end of the bottle, but balanced and approachable.

Perfect example of '09 Bdx. Rich and lush with a good portion of Merlot but it finishes dry and earthy with Bordeaux structure. Great value
