Margaux de Brane Red Bordeaux Blend

55% Merlot and 45% Cab Sauv. Third wine from Brane-Cantenac. Silky with violet perfume. More red fruited with green notes, potting soil, and coffee beans becoming more apparent on day two. Should be a decent contender for 5-7 in the cellar.

Grapes selected from youngest vines, still has signature style of BC. Deep Ruby color with aromas of dark black fruit, and a slight earthy herb nose. On the palate flavors of blackberry, currant and cherry, with cedar and tobacco notes. Firm grainy tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice and earthy mineral notes.

Fruit forward and showing cassis, juicy blackberry, kirsch, some new leather, some dark wood. Nice weight in the middle of the palate. Some length, as well.

Quite young so it’s still very vibrant and fruit forward. Very enjoyable now but would like to re-visit in a few years.

Nice Margaux - elegant and structured, with expressive fruit. Nose of flowers, mint, and plummy dark fruits. Spice plays a supporting role here, with the oak just bringing everything together.

Found at a local wine store. Very nice comportment overall. Maybe what I paired with it, but was tasty but not memorable.

Tasted 2024. Superb.

Strong aroma, can’t put my finger on it. Smells very full. Fruit, solid acid but not strong. Lower tannins. Medium to light body. Easy drinker

Dense cassis, smooth tannins — lovely. 92.
