Margaux de Brane Red Bordeaux Blend

Grapes selected from youngest vines, still has signature style of BC. Deep Ruby color with aromas of dark black fruit, and a slight earthy herb nose. On the palate flavors of blackberry, currant and cherry, with cedar and tobacco notes. Firm grainy tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice and earthy mineral notes.

Fruit forward and showing cassis, juicy blackberry, kirsch, some new leather, some dark wood. Nice weight in the middle of the palate. Some length, as well.

Quite young so it’s still very vibrant and fruit forward. Very enjoyable now but would like to re-visit in a few years.

Nice Margaux - elegant and structured, with expressive fruit. Nose of flowers, mint, and plummy dark fruits. Spice plays a supporting role here, with the oak just bringing everything together.

Tasted 2024. Superb.

Strong aroma, can’t put my finger on it. Smells very full. Fruit, solid acid but not strong. Lower tannins. Medium to light body. Easy drinker

Dense cassis, smooth tannins — lovely. 92.

Middle of the road Margaux. It has a smooth and full mouth feel. Nice subtle aroma and flavor. But it’s rather subtle. I do like Bordeauxs but this seems to lack in oomph. 13.99 at WH for a half bottle. Might consider getting it in the future and decanting it for an hour before.

Enjoyed with Kobe beef bao buns, black angus rib eye steak, Kobe beef and chorizo dumplings, and roasted zucchini

Quite unctuous, almost oily mouth feel. But nice. Aromatics low. I think a bit out of balance but I have no idea how long this bottle has been open and how many times the VacuVin top has been pumped. A bit dense and in your face.
