There is a strong sense of dark fruit on the nose, along with a beautifully smoky mocha note which appeared on the day after opening the bottle. Tar and spices come through as well. The palate is fruity, with a savory backbeat that balances very well. The tannic structure is firm without overpowering the sipping experience, and the finish is of medium length.

Drank over two nights 6/25/19-6/26/19.

Simple, yet decidedly Italian nose of earth and red cherry. Flavors of leather, soil, red and black fruit are backed by firm tannins. Fruit is a bit lacking, as tar, earth, and tannins dominate the finish. This improved significantly on day two, as it was paired with lamb chops, as opposed to the original pairing of Stromboli. Needs some meat and time to soften the tannic structure.

A simple and easy drinking red wine from Italy. Showing red fruits with earth, vegetables and light wood.

Spicy and tangy ending with soft tannins. Needs time to open up.

Very -very- nice Chianti. One of my favourites actually, if comparing apples to apples. Smooth and crisp. Balanced. Flavorful. Ideal.

Сладкий красный грейпфрут, фреш, ваниль, замша. Вкус цитрусовых, цедра, немного яблочной косточки, красного яблока. Не плохо, но без позитива. 14.5/20 (83/100)

This wine is a perfect mix of old world structure and grace with new world ripe cherries and sweet oak resin. Delicious and well made. Score = happy to be home with you.

Giulio de' Medici - a member of the florentine Medici family - became Pope Clemente VII in 1523 and used to live in Campoli in the Chianti Classico area where today they produce this superb wine (off the back of the bottle) Love reading about the Medici family. So much history there! Great wine for after a belly full of pasta!
