Dolia Monica di Sardegna

Produced from a local variety, the Monica grape, Ruby with aromas of red/black fruits, floral and herb notes. On the palate flavors of raspberry and blackberry with dried herbs, lively acidity with a saline character. Dusty fine tannins, medium finish ending with fruit and earthy notes.

Med+ acidity, trim sandy soil body, Plum, craberry skin, tea tannin, slight bitter, graphite/pencil, berry in the finish.

Enjoyed without decant, deserves 1-1.5 hr. decant.

I love Monica, a varietal I would like to see more of. Bet it would grow wonderfully in Baja (Prove me wrong).

Delicious, obscure #monica from #sardinia. Expect to keep this one in the wine fridge for a day from uncorking before the wine truly expresses itself. After that there’s a lovely wild cherry, violet, faint pepper and distant black cardamom smokiness in the heady nose. Juicy acidity, soft tannins on the palate make this nicely food friendly wine. Overall the experience is bargain Burgundian - fantastic wine for ~$13 at Total Wine.

OK. Rubber cork leaks badly with Coravin so never again for us.

Medium bodied, dry style, dark fruit and hints of black pepper on the palate with good acidity and gentle tannin.

A very nice red blend. Easy to drink, it would go with most foods.

Pleasant but nondescript and essentially unremarkable. Egri Bikavér does the same thing for less money.

Taste of old leather.

Really nice light, dry red wine. If you like dry wine, this is very drinkable.
