2004 and aging well. Leather, earth, dried flowers, and the liquid stone finish you want from Etna.

The nose is clearly volcanic and accented by the scrub that grows on it. The oak has peeled back on this and revealed a gem of a wine. You know when the nose is what you keep going back to you have a great wine! Volcanic rock and ash aromas, a pleasant herbal accent, sweet tobacco, developing red fruit notes bordering on maturity, and subtle oak notes. The finish is long and shows ripe tannin structure. 2004 vintage

Lots of bottle variation, this was one of the good ones. Lifted, without too much VA; funky, without too much Brett. All the red fruit and hot rocks and pretty aromatics you could want.

Whoa. Super VA on opening. After a 3 hour decant and with food, it calms down to tolerable levels for me, leaving behind pretty Nerello rocks and flowers.

I always forget about A Cote and then I come here and am like, why haven't I been here lately? 2004 Etna Rosso by the glass? Yes, please.
