Paired w grilled lamb chops.
Deep purple color, not showing much evolution. Nose is all stewed blackberries w a hint of leafy notes. This feels like is has been acidified, with a hint of crushed kids vitamin. Tannins are robust and recall a lot of Napa Cab I've tasted from recent vintages. I suppose if you like rich wines, this may be reach perfection for you. For me, it was a bit harsh/unbalanced.

Almirez- This is a beast of a Tempranillo. Known in the DO as Tinta de Toro, the wine is brawny and brambly with licks of blackberry, vanilla and smoky plum. Full bodied with racy acidity and a penetrating finish. Rich and rugged. A goodie to have in the cellar. I love it. The 2012 vintage is drinking beautifully right now #toro #almirez #winetasting #winelover #winetime #tempranillo

Nice complexity of vanilla, black fruit and cedar. Firm tannins and nice long finish.

Overdone and overripe, but tasty-ish.

Tinta de Toro anyone? Perhaps the Petite Sirah of Spain. Agreed?

2010 at its best , rich and full bodied yet loaded with tons of fruit. A solid 2 years of aging only makes it better.

Vino de capa alta, en nariz cacao, café y frutas rojas con gran potencia. En boca buena entrada, estructura potencia y un final agradable y largo.
