Jun 16th, 2019Mmmmmmm. Red fruit on the nose. Noticeable acidity compared to the other Garzon wines. Punishing tannin, dried red fruit, clove and baking spices on the finish. Weighty, sandpaper texture. A consistently exciting producer.

Feb 17th, 2018After a 30 minute decant this wine from Uruguay really opens up. Silky smooth, low tannins, full bodied, dark fruit, nice color. Better than the 2016 I had a few years ago. TGIF!!

Rich and soft stewed cherry and plum. Gentle acid. Mild, grainy tannins. Holds up on day two. A great intro to the new wave of Uruguayan wine.

this was great - i tend to roll the dice with wines from Uruguay w/mixed results but this over achieved: deep ruby opaque wafting impressive black & red fruit, deep rich generous, along with typical CF medley of cracked pepper, herbaceous, and some bell pepper notes. Traditional yet w/New World exuberance this was balanced & polished on palate, med bodied harmonious med tannins & acidity leading to lingering finish. Bump for QPR

Had at Tin 202. Blackberry, plum, bell pepper, tobacco, granite. Fine tannin, bright acid, restrained oak. Single-vineyard, decomposed-ballast soils, cool maritime. Lean red meat's best friend. Drink through 2030.

Jul 4th, 2026Clear, medium ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced intensity primary and secondary aromas of red pepper flakes, red plums, and tabacco; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of raspberries, strawberries, tart cherries, and clay pots with a long finish. This wine is intense and complex. Overall, I rate this wine as very good.
