First of the three blind reds to celebrate passing with distinction on the WSET 2.

Deep garnet red with a ruby core. Layered nose with lots of complexity. Notes of mushrooms, truffles, dark forest floor, cedar, leather, dark cocoa and a touch of dark fruits in the finish. It got a little dirtier with some vegetal notes after some time in the glass, definitely the Cabernet Franc influence. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and well integrated. Notes of dark cinnamon, dark bitter cocoa, anise, plums and dark berries. Medium plus body and a long finish with some dark gravel. Drink till 2019.

Does not level up to some the other Bevan wines we have had, but not the easiest vintage either. Solid work.

Really well made wine and ready to go in the Napa valley style with luxurious fruit. Medium to full bodied ripe tannin so this is fairly smooth, with a long and layered finish. Black cherry, cassis, plum, a touch of graphite and some sweet oak notes define this wines aroma and flavor. Well balanced, this is a drink now and should be fine for at least 10 years. #napavalley #bevancellars #showketEE #guiltypleasurewine #steaknight

Wow, just amazing! The cork was pretty saturated so I was worried about this magnum, but it showed perfectly. Amazing depth and concentration while being incredibly smooth and harmonious.

Big, bold, and exuberant. Lovely fruit with just a bit of an edge of charred oak. Not quite as great as the more recent vintages, but still very, very delicious.

Nicely made Cabernet, big but not too big, softer edges will firm fruit finish.
