Fruity, gutsy, and straightforward. Nose has plenty of dark red fruits, a bit of raw beef, a very subtle note of cracked peppercorn, and yeasty freshly-baked bread scents. Already showing nicely on the palate, it’s fairly concentrated and nicely balanced. Think of it as a Cali Crozes. Great value.

Another back the truck up year for Bedrock’s QPR leader! The ‘21 has classic syrah fruit and spice, a nice hint of oak and a fine line of acidity to bring it together. Plus you get a bit of some of the best Syrah vineyards in the Golden State.

Punchy and spicy. Good aggressive fruit profile and no olives (nice since olives are trash.) Not just fruit here though. Good spice and structure. Delivers way more than price paid.

Revisiting 2019 a few years on since first tasting it. It’s a nearly black wine, with plums and minerals on the nose. Maintains its mouth-filling fruit and graphite notes with drying tannins and a zippy raspberry acid in the finish. Big and delicious still.

This recently released 2020 Blend of Syrahs from historic vineyards across California is a rich purple in the glass, doesn’t open with much of a nose, a delivers a smooth, rich mouthfeel with hints of violet and a little oak. Maybe not the greatest of vintages for this wine but still an easy drinking wine and a great value at +/-$25.

Ripe, deep red, rich and round. Nice balance of dark berry fruit and zippy acidity. Nice aroma of blackberry, plum and earth. One of California’s great QPV bargains. Burgers, sautéed Zucchini, and very fresh mashed potatoes…. Fall/winter comfort food and wine.
