Azienda Agricola Valentini
Trebbiano d'Abruzzo
Pale lemon in color with a light golden hue.
Ripe citrus fruits on the nose with earth and spices.
Medium bodied with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with mild complexity.
Showing apples, ripe citrus fruits, apples, earth, herbs and vegetables.
This 4 year old is drinking very fresh right out of the bottle. Soft, smooth and elegant.
Needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
Easy drinking and good by itself or with food, and gets more complex as it opens up.
A good quality wine, but I expected a little more at this price point.
A great sipping wine, balanced and elegant.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
Trebbiano grapes were aged in used large oak barrels for 12 months.
12.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.
$150.

Jan 5th, 2024Surprising. Almost fizzy- secondary fermentation? Quite funky- Brett? Very vital and alive with a lees-y quality. Bright and precise.

Dec 15th, 2021Finesse, delicacy, complexity and focus
Quince, cedar and thyme tea
White pepper, almond spread and white choc
A field of flowers(mainly yellow)
Lemon curds, dill, breadcrumbs and more and more
Seaweed and strongly marine
Whispered rather than shouted class
Every swirl is a discovery, a subtle win of aromas
Toffees and cappuccino coming out of the glass with the rising temperature
It goes without saying the fun
So long aftertaste
12% in alcohol
This is the gotha of the Italian white wines
Still decades ahead i am sure
It could easily rank a Grand Cru status
Grab it if you can..and then age it

A surprise! From the 2010 vintage, this had the weight of white burg and density. Acidity of Trebbiano. I was shocked at how good this was.

Aug 11th, 2019Firm reduction which doesn’t blow off in a decanter, plenty of saline, briny, cool minerality, savory fruits, citrus and olives. Lots of texture and weight but also very light. Another wonderful expression of what “natural” wine is capable of being.
