Scratching that Barbera versatility itch

One of my favorite Italian producers. First time trying their Barbara and I really enjoy it. Rich red fruits and a bit savory.

Thin, overly acidic, not defective, but not very pleasant.

Nice Barbera d'alba that has a slight resiny/incense olfactory & flavor profile that doesn't detract from the overall enjoyed experience in the tasting. Very balanced & enjoyed very much!

Medium ruby; medium plus intensity aromas of oxidized apple skins, damp earth, dusty barrels, dried red fruit; developing; dry, high acid, medium plus tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium intensity flavors of oxidized apple skin, damp cellar, wet earth, subtle red fruit

A standard Barbera by all metrics. Lacks some of the tar and cherry notes in the best examples of this grape. Better on day 2.

Run, don't walk great value. Tart cherries, full body, earthy. Flowers. Long finish.

Lighter in body than the 2011, but every bit as good. How did MacArthur miss out on the 2012?!
