Most peoples favorite but i favored cannubi as it was more ready, this monster has a good 15-20 years ahead of it yet. Loaded with spice mint truffle and licorice, a black barolo with terrific layering and concentration on the palate. Plenty of tannin left, acidity and fruit, excellent but still a brooding youngster....1989 vintage.

Terrific example of how a modernist Barolo ages. You can sense immediately the emphasis on ripeness and getting the fruit to show a plush, upfront quality. 30 plus years later it’s all there, but w/o the depth and structure and transparency of the more classic producers.
