Warming up the palette for the trip to the motherland this week...more fruit than savory but man, without the shipping costs, the price is right #qprpiemonte — 10 years ago
Everything you want in nibbiolo without the price tag. Earth and spice w strong tannins. #qprsuperstar #theking #thepeopleschamp — 10 years ago
Picked up this bad boy for 16CHF at a train stop in Visp, not my favorite of this royal variety, but it had nice black fruits along with leather and a hint of a repaved asphalt road on a hot summer day, definitely could have used some time in crystal - our hosts had none. #qprking — 10 years ago

Meaty, black olives, bacon, wild herb garden... Just stupid. #TheKing — 11 years ago

Monster qpr. Aromatics that jump out of the glass, enough acid, and violets and tar on the finish. #NebbiYOLO #theking — 8 years ago
An elegant Nebbiolo with notes of plum, black cherry, sundried tobaccos, and dusty leather with velvety tannins. This bottle will be at its best a few years from now, and that's saying a lot given how rich and textured it currently sits. #winekylecanbuy A bit pricey but #qpr for the comparables. It's good to be the king. — 10 years ago

Great wine from a great vintage. Really wish I had more patience with this. Perfumed floral and dusty herb aromatics. Bright cherry and raspberry flavors up front subsides to baking spice notes balanced through the finish with intense acidity. If you have I wish you strength I didn't have as this will improve with age. — 9 years ago
A little tart at first, but after allowing it to open, this wine was fantastic. long live the king! @Scott Petrus — 10 years ago
An absolute delight. Full of untamed spice initially, this bottle became more tempered with some decanting. That's not to say that it lost any of its panache, however, as it really allowed the wines complexity to shine. Fantastic grape, excellent bottle, and an incredible experience. — 10 years ago
Spicy and tannic, this bold wine seizes the throne. A deep red with tangerine hues at the top, the wine features an intense nose powerful notes of cherry, black pepper, and vanilla. Upon the palette, the wine is dry, but velvety soft. Overall, it's full-bodied but well-balanced. Not bad for a layover in Chicagoland. #NotaQPR — 10 years ago
