When you open a white Burgundy, a Chateauneuf du Pape and a Cornas but the wine of the night is a Sonoma Petit Sirah...#wotn #moonmountaindistrict — 10 years ago
Utter #infanticide of one of the truly singular, expressive and terroir driven wines around. #moonmountaindistrict — 10 years ago

Whoa! Spicy, herbed, juicy, bold and rounded. From a tiny vineyard high in the #moonmountaindistrict, this lovely beast needs a little more time in the bottle but will be great for decades to come — 11 years ago
Spicy tobacco nose. Darkness. Bold dark fruit. Tension structure balance. Tasted with Christophe Tassan, Mark Herold, Robert Kamen and @Philip Coturri #moonmountaindistrict — 11 years ago

Structure, texture, good plummy fruit that veered toward pruny. A big, warm year #moonmountaindistrict cab. — 11 years ago
Sweet gravelly goodness. #moonmountaindistrict — 11 years ago
Hasty decision to uncork this reveals obvious infanticide. Tight, reductive, un-integrated oak the first day. After a day in the wine fridge it’s starting to come alive. That #moonmountaindistrict fruit starts unfurling with black/purple berry preserve nose, subtle baking spices, kola nut, cocoa powder. Lush acidity on palate, chewy tannins that compile on the palate, coasting finish. I’d love to see this wine evolve at 5 years and 10. — 3 years ago
Cranberry and dried herbs on the nose. Smoke, leather and. Spice. Plush, velvety finish. #dumol #moonmountaindistrict — 6 years ago
Rich, ripe, full bodied but still elegant. Exactly what you'd expect when combining #grenache w/ #philcoturri #markherold & #moonmountaindistrict — 10 years ago
Late-harvest botrytized semillon that's delicious when swigged straight from the bottle. Perfectly balanced sweetness with just enough acid. And the bonus is its from #moonmountaindistrict's famous old vines. — 11 years ago
"I tell sommeliers, if you figure out a wine it's not because you're good, it's because the wine is good."-Tassan. Direct and exacting. This could not be anything but Cab Franc from the #moonmountaindistrict — 11 years ago

Young, expressive and concentrated. The first Grenache I tasted from the #moonmountaindistrict in #sonomavalley — 11 years ago
2004 vintage. Jeff Baker's home label. Pipe tobacco and bittersweet chocolate. Really delicious cab. #moonmountaindistrict — 11 years ago
Captivating red blend from a boutique Sonoma mountain producer. Plush purple and black fruit on the nose, hint of baking spices, vanilla, toasted oak. Great balance on palate, wave of fruit and spice continues with just the right amount of acidity and robust tannins on the finish. It paired beautifully with sous vide rosemary ribeyes finished on the grill, but wines like this could age gracefully for at least a decade. #moonmountaindistrict — 3 years ago
Came out of the gate too polished and put toghether but a little bit of air and some Moroccan spice lamb meatballs and the edge of funkiness and intensity emerged letting you know this was #moonmountaindistrict — 9 years ago
This is how you get @Philip Coturri to go out to a sushi dinner...#sushiwine #nocorkage #moonmountaindistrict — 11 years ago
Gravelly honeysuckle. Wouldn't expect anything less from Bedrock and the #moonmountaindistrict — 11 years ago
2012 truly shows the #estatezin at its best. #moonmountaindistrict — 11 years ago
My bride's birth year. Ripe fruit flavor with nice earthy, rounded tannins. Classic aged Cabernet could've been old world as much #moonmountaindistrict — 11 years ago

Vasanth Balakrishnan
Storied Sonoma producer. This 100% #sangiovese grown on #moonmountaindistrict shows the power of terroir. Aromas and palate drinks nothing like Tuscan Sangiovese but instead it drinks closer to Cabernet and Bordeaux blend from the same mountain AVA with punchy black/purple fruit on the nose; distinctive edgy tannins on the palate set against pronounced acidity. 11 years of bottle age is only just starting to soften the tannins a bit. Beautiful age-worthy red wine. — 2 years ago
