Pestoni Family

Pestoni Ranch Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Lemon in color with a light golden tint.

Fruity nose with lemons, citrus, light oak, vanilla, spices, yellow pears, red apples, sea salt and spices.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with limes, grapefruits, citrus, green apples, bitter herbs, spices, earth, green vegetables, light wood and black pepper.

Medium finish with limes and bitter almonds.

This Single Vineyard, Napa Valley, Sauvignon Blanc is crisp and refreshing with nice balance. Showing mild complexity with a nice mouthfeel.

A good wine to have by itself or with food. Good for the pool too.

Needs 20 minutes to open up properly and better when properly chilled.

I had it by the pool with light appetizers.

13.4% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

$25.

Renieri Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2013

Big day of wine! Grand Reserve tasting at Total followed by steak night.

Third wine from Total wine tasting. Needs a little more time in the bottle, but beautiful representation of Brunello. Underripe bing cherries and white rose petals.

@Jack Thompson , what was the theme of the tasting?

Silver Oak

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1997

A standout to me based on the youthfulness of this bottle shared by @Mike R, thank you. Underbrush and mint on the nose. While still maintaining a bright red color that is still intact. Gave me devious reminders of a Penfolds Grange. Mint, iron and blast of minerals prevailed on the palate. Supremely balanced as some of the pre 97’s in the flight gained tannins. — 5 years ago

Love it @Shawn R ! The low toast signature of our American oak barrels (we make them at our cooperage in Missouri) preserves that freshness, and as it integrates at 20+ years, finds balance with the more youthful vanilla component. It is usually more prevalent in the Alexander Valley (since we use less new oak), but the best vintages of Napa can show it too with enough time. Cheers! 🍷

Happy #WorldWhiskeyDay. Light brownish yellow in appearance. Quite a bit of peatiness with some tree fruits and tobacco. Well rounded palate with tree fruits and full bodied. Medium plus length finish. — 5 years ago

Six hours without rain? Taking advantage with a fire and good company. This is drinking beautifully for its young age - cherry and spice; well-rounded and integrated now. Increasingly pleased with this second-tier offering. — 5 years ago

Gramercy Cellars

Olsen Vineyard Rosé Blend 2018

Sourced from the esteemed ‘Olsen Vineyard’ in the Yakima Valley, this wine is a compelling blend of 47% Cinsault with 27% Grenache and 26% Syrah. Pretty red rose and watermelon with orange blossom and shades of white pepper aromatics all build in the glass. The palate unveils a silky texture and a rich, gratifying mouthfeel. Once in the mouth, bright guava, strawberry and lighter earthy and wet stone undertones round out this downright delicious Rose. While beautiful in its youth, this impressive effort will cellar well over the next five plus years. Drink 2019-2024- 92 — 5 years ago

I wish the doctors I work with had 1/2 of your skill set when it comes to medical reports. Perhaps more wine would help.

Has the gamey nose of goat emmentaler cheese soaked in cherries. Young and ageable. Purchase to cellar if you enjoy the name. Classically oaked California Cab. — 5 years ago
