This wine is pure elegance! 100% of the grapes are from the Beckstoffer Dr Crane Vineyard. 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% petit Verdot. On the nose, blackberry, cassis, strawberry, mint, dried herbs, and black pepper. A beautiful example of wine with great intensity and depth. Layers of black fruits (black plums, blackberries, black currants) dark bitter chocolate, leather, oak and spice. Opulent and rich on the palate with lush black fruits, powdered chocolate, toast all balanced by acidity and fine grained tannins. One of the best 2011 Napa Cabernets out there.

Very primary after a 5 hour decant but a lot of class. Nicely balanced with dark sweet fruits, graphite and fig. I've been on the list since the start and Juan and company and their wines continue to ascend. I say hold for optimum drinking but instant gratification seekers need not tarry.
