Zotzenberg Riesling 2018

This is your #riesling if you’re not a fan of the petrol / diesel notes, once this has had a chance to breathe a bit. While I don’t mind those, this is a nice alternative terroir expression - subtle floral and peach notes on nose. @Kurt Schuster is spot on with the crystalline descriptor. The palate is more about the luscious fruit texture backed by sturdy acidity and a touch of RS rather than a lot of complexity. Where else can you get #grandcru #alsaceriesling other than #costco for ~$18? — 8 months ago

Grand Cru Zotzenberg Gewürztraminer 2017

Post- drinking notes. Love this. So classic. Only qualification is that I’d love it if more Alsace producers went the Trimbach/Hugel route for Gewurz and made it a tad drier. Still so nice. See prior notes for more specifics. — 2 years ago

On the other side of the border in Baden (and also the Pfalz) they do just that Dry Gewürztraminer. But there are very few winemakers who do that and often in minuscule amounts for family and friends (mostly).
