Interlude Red Blend 2015

Smells of fruit grown in gravel.

Loud blueberries, cran Pom grape good, clean, smooth, mouthfeel and wonderfully light heft. A whole lot bouncing around in this wine. The acid oak balance is strikingly harmonious.
Lingering blue fruit skin. A good one to watch the latest GOT with.

Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards

Napa Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

A really nice aged Cabernet Sauvignon from the Conn Creek area which is an outflow from Howell Mtn. Nice cool waters in a slightly warmer microclimate make for beautiful Bordeaux varietals! Aged black cherry and a hint of truffle and worn saddle leather on the nose. Entry still has a tiny bit of acidity, but beautiful black cherry and mint and truffle which were more of the primary notes. Almost makes me think this had a hint of eucalyptus when it was closer to it's youth? I was getting more of a smoked note in the middle. The finish was still a little bit acidic, but very complex. Walnut, black cherry, Blackberry, hint of black licorice on the finish. This wine has impeccable structure, and I look forward to it continuing to drink well over the next 3 to 5 years. — 21 days ago

Cappella Cabernet Franc Merlot 2013

Hey wonderful and interesting blend that comes off as being muted and stoic but is really quite pleasant could benefit from slightly higher acidity but it’s really a wonderful showing at this price — 8 months ago

Expressions of Still Waters Red Blend 2014

My first wine club selection from an incredible winery. Light enough to sip, but enough depth to make it a memorable favorite. If only I could find more... — 7 months ago

Old Stones Walla Walla Valley Syrah 2014

Needs some air to blossom. But then it’s classic Rocks: smoky basaltic minerality (a/k/a “fire pit”), grilled asparagus, iodine, and cassis ooze. So concentrated and mouthfilling. Plushly-textured, filling every nook and cranny. Low acids, but the savoriness and minerality of the wines from this AVA actually negate that as an issue (it would be a different story if the wines from the Rocks more fruity rather than savory). Rhône varieties grown in this district are some of the most interesting wines in the world IMHO. — 8 months ago
