Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three hours. The 2015 pours a beautiful garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and some tart red fruits: Morello cherry, raspberry, blood orange, black tea, red flowers, licorice, leather, exotic spices, and dry stony earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and savory. This needed about an hour in the decanter before it really began to strut its stuff but when it did, holy smokes, it was out of this world. A brilliant wine and a beautiful expression of Sangiovese and Montalcino. What a lovely treat. Drink now through 2045. — 3 days ago

At first I found this medium bodied, slightly creamy, with prominent stone fruits, white peach and cumquat, with a prominent minerality and slight notes of cheesecake on the nose. Now it’s emerging much more dry with air, still a long, mineral driven palate, still medium bodied, but beautifully balanced and definitely a contract to many California white wines when it comes to complexity and nuance. — 7 months ago

Ruby color, purple edges, with pronounced aromas of red fruits, floral, herbs and complex spice. On the palate concentrated flavors of raspberry, ripe plum and black cherry with orange citrus, herbs, vanilla and oak, soft tannins on well balanced structure. Full body, rich long finish, ending with fruit, vanilla, floral, spice and oaky tones. Very Nice! Will age!

Cannot go wrong with 2018 vintage on most central Tuscan wines and this isn’t an exception. A nice, inexpensive, appealing and approachable Sangiovese driven with a gentle tannins, bright orange acidity, juicy cranberry, ripe red cherries and spice and subtle touch of oak.
