After a few hours open: Looks like Nebbiolo. Menthol on the nose and some peppery spice, pencil shavings a bit. Tart red fruit and serious umami meatiness like iberico ham. Tannins aren’t overpowering, but haven’t had a younger bottle so I guess its the age? I want more of this. — 7 days ago
It's #AgedWineTuesday today. Here is a delicious one from California.
This 20 year old has a gorgeous nose.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with black fruits, cedar, vanilla, licorice, earth, green olives, spices, peppercorn, leather, tobacco and green vegetables.
Nice finish with spices and tangy raspberries.
What a great nose on this Syrah. Reminds me of a Napa Syrah.
Fruits are on the decline, by now, but it is still interesting and enjoyable by itself. Good with food too.
What a score.
I paired it with short ribs with truffled mushrooms.
12.4% alcohol by volume.
90 points. — a month ago
Excellent excellent central coast chard. Oak is just right (for me), acidity not super racey, everything is in balance with this wine. Ripe pineapple, stone fruit, sea salt. Excited to see this evolve over next 10+ years — 15 days ago
Berry and a hint of what’s to come on the nose. Dried cherries and light pepper on the mouthfeel. We paired with roasted pheasant and asparagus which was AMAZING — 14 days ago
