Hard to beat for the price,
The pristine condition of this stunningly copper-colored brandy is inspiring - it's gorgeous. In the nose there are delicate fragrances of spice, sesame seed, light oak, and baked pears; seven more minutes in the glass bring out pineapple, light toffee, milk, and brown sugar. The palate entry is elegant, composed, and moderately sweet in more of an oaky than a fruity way; by the midpalate stage, there's flavor evidence of ripe pear, white grapes, cake frosting, Oloroso sherry, orange peel, and dark honey. End up sugary sweet, satiny textured, and long in the throat. 4 Stars - Highly Recommended - Spirit Journal - F. Paul Pacult 40% ABV

Beautiful medium deep salmon colour with aromas of candied apple, strawberry, apricot, honey, grapefruit and some rosehip. Intense and dynamic tiny bubbles that turn into velvet. A touch of sweetness but not sweet, balanced by a fresh acidity. On the palate, strawberries in cream, red apple, pomegrenate, lemon zest and honey with a nice long strawberry and sourdough finish. Gorgeous, complex and balanced. Loved this wine! — 19 days ago
Solid entry-level Pinot from the Central California Coast. Crunchy red and blue fruits, a brisk but balanced structure, and a nice finish. It needs a bit of time or a brief decant right now. — 7 days ago
Perfectly fine brandy, but I expected more from the price. — a month ago
Purchased because I was promised some botrytis influence and dried honey notes in any form always make me very happy. Monte Grande could easily go unnoticed but if you stop for a minute, you'll find a basket of textures and aromas.
More amber imagery than the color suggests. Just a glint of copper or rose gold. Notes of honey and hazelnut and fudgey dates, with baked apple and pear and sour pineapple and starfruit. Supremely acidic and balanced cream makes this comfortable.
Serve this to me blind and I'd call it Chenin. — a month ago
