Col Solare

Collector's Society Red Mountain Malbec 2017

The 2017 ‘Component Collection’ Malbec shows bright violets with blackberry compote and white pepper dusted mocha tones alongside scorched earth that all take shape in the glass. The palate is plush showing a gorgeous sense of richness and complexity. Blueberry cordial and Black Forest Cake flavors march on parade with espresso bean and dark currants on the palate. The length here is really good, as this beautiful and decadent Malbec wine will provide drinking enjoyment for the next fifteen years. Drink 2021-2036- 94 — 4 years ago

You mean better not use coravin?

In the case of this wine, yes. This wine is much better when it is opened and the cork is removed.

Araldica

Piemonte Cortese 2020

Wine Society - a pleasant Italian wine - mild fruity tones that linger well after the wine has left the mouth. Definitely will order again - would be idle for BBQs and summer evenings. — 3 years ago

Got it at Costco. Really nice Pinot - dry, but almost like a blend. — 4 years ago

Château Gazin

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 1985

AMAZING BORDEAUX that’s still able to shine, decanted, after a few hours of opening! In ritual notes of damp leather, subdued / dried fruits and felt past its prime. 2 hours later - completely blossomed into this robust, aged, beautiful almost “fruit forward” masterpiece with almost olive overtones. I’m sure it was a great bottle 10, 20, even 30 years ago - but now it’s almost better as it’s transformed into this subtle, wonderful wine which was able to hold its own against aged cheese and roasted beef. A true treasure I’m glad we uncorked!! (BTW - cork was LONG - get your longest screw out for this one)!!! — 2 years ago

@Roy Goble 👍 I’ll join the Realm list.
BTW, I think I heard you speak at a NCF event here in Louisville, KY. I have a copy of the Junkyard Wisdom book. Somehow you came up on my feed here on Delectable, and I thought the name was familiar. Small world. Cheers!

Grand Cru Brand Riesling

Had his as a Guwerztraminer tasting event at Beetle Cat in Atlanta, hosted by the Southeast Sommelier Society. Gorgeous floral nose of peach blossoms, white rose petals and lychee. On the palette, this wine was impeccably balanced with lemon tart acidity cutting though the evident residual sugar. Succulent notes of fresh apricot, lychee and lemon tart to a long and refined finish. — 6 years ago
