2019 vintage.
Named after a little creek running between the vineyards and the Villa.
60 % Merlot, 30 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 % Cabernet Franc from vineyards in Bolgheri and Maremma.
12 months in French and American Oak barriques…30 % new.
Deep, dark ruby red.
Red fruit, leather, toasty and herbal on the nose.
Dark plum, tobacco, bay leaf with finely grained tannins with medium acidity and a fresh finish.
This wine definitely punches above its weight.

Mistakable for Barolo, floral, ripe fruit but light/medium bodied, acidic, very approachable — a month ago
No formal notes as this was the last wine served and I didn’t get enough time to examine in detail. Served blind. Medium ruby , quite wide garnet rim . Quite high toned , fresh red fruits , strawberry, raspberry , and touch of spice . Elegant and refined , very tensile . Quite fresh with spiced red cherry fruit , long and detailed , saline tinged on the finish . Impressive but very young , needs a bit more time really. Better in 5-10 years and will last well a further 10 or so. — 9 months ago

“L” natural Grenache at Primrose 2019 with Zubal on 7/14/21. Dazzlingly delightful recommended by Sebastian for $70. Dances on the front of the tongue. Light, lots of barnyard, to the point of “manure“. Does not stand up to food. — 5 years ago

Before I came to France Ugo mentioned he kind of misses the big US cabs. So I brought this big boy over from Toronto. BIG boy is right. Tres jammy upfront and lots of leather and some tobacco/spice at the end. Smooth, round, classic Napa offering. — 8 years ago

Fruity forward. Soaked mouthfeel. Great wine for great price — 7 months ago
Nice balance, good berries up front and pepper and a little leather. I felt it could have a little more depth. Ugo liked it more than me. Aged well. Nice treat. — 4 years ago
Notes of ripe cherries and earth, almost spicy. Nice balance and stimulating texture. Long finish. Good yummy GL wine saved since '06! — 6 years ago
Awesome. Blueberry. Spice. Great density. Juicy. Bought from fass selections. — 8 years ago
Very nice. Good choice uncle Ugo! A little berry up front, really good depth and some spice on the finish. Went great with dinner after having fun in a plaza in Dijon watching France win the World Cup. Very exciting time to be here!! — 8 years ago

Founder Fass Selections
Really blossomed with air and a light chill. Dizzying Nebbiolo perfume: tar, roses, spice, dried flowers, deep dark cherry and melting road tar. The palate has serious concentration and grip, but stays nimble, sapid and elegant, with beautiful tannins right on the edge. Long, clinging finish. A great, honest Barbaresco, though a little warmth keeps it from the very top. — 13 days ago
