Gibson Ranch Heritage McDowell Valley Red Blend

Still fruity and primary at seven years, slight pretty deep rose or violet to my impaired nose, cake spice and berries on palate, open since Monday night and want to hold a bit for tomorrow, still…but it’s a deep California glou-glou! — 2 years ago

Suspect Series Syrah Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Blackberry, big blueberry, a bit of raspberry, and loose, fuzzy tannins here... Ten years after the 2009 vintage, this one's still got a bit of room to run... That said, I wouldn't call this one tight... The Syrah contributes some pepper... I'll admit that Syrah-Cabernet isn't my favorite blend, but it was great revisiting this one after a memorable visit to the tasting bar at the winery over seven years ago with my buddy... We hit Naramata every summer, and though we've started sticking with our favorites, this place likely deserves a return visit. — 5 years ago

Co Dinn

Roskamp Vineyard Chardonnay 2016

Co Dinn has been crafting some classy Washington Chardonnay since his time many years back at Hogue Cellars. The new 2016 ‘Roskamp Vineyard’ Chardonnay is a delightful effort that was aged on the lees for seventeen months prior to bottling. Right out of the gate this shows off a downright sexy mouthfeel, with gobs of tension and bright orchard fruits. The exceedingly long finish lingers. This is up there with the best in the state. Enjoy this fantastic effort over the next seven to ten years, as this will pick up lovely tertiary tones as it ages. Drink 2019-2026- 93 — 4 years ago

Snowdrift Cider Co.

Red Cider

First to rate this. 7.5% alc/vol. Label states “Made entirely from red-fleshed apples. 0ff-dry...Descendants of Kazakhstan’s wild apple forests...The pigment-rich apples yield a coral cider naturally rich in flavors of watermelon, strawberry and rhubarb”. Medium sized bubbles, foam ring persists long after pour. Coral pink in color with great clarity. Primarily apple aroma, simple profile but floral and perfumed. Crisp in mouth, very fresh tasting with a hint of unripe or green fruit character, good malic presence, moderate pulp astringency on finish. Some watermelon and strawberry character in flavor but I’m a poor identifier of rhubarb. A treat, worth seeking out. Produced in East Wenatchee WA, USA. Nanocidery makes seven ciders, 200 cases in its first year, up to 1800 cases after two years — 5 years ago

Humility Merlot Blend 2013

Wow! The merlot-led cherry cordial is hitting BP like an all-star. Solid integration even at seven years… Acid tanning with patina elegance. Radically under priced at $25, this deserves another trip around the track. tasty and versatile:) — 3 years ago

Saviah Cellars

The Funk Estate Syrah 2016

The 2016 ‘The Funk Estate’ is a stunning new wine by superstar winemaker Richard Funk of Saviah Cellars. Chosen to co-ferment 4% Viognier with Syrah, this immediately entices with bright citrus blossom aromatics that combine with the deep dark fruits, green olive, bacon fat and horse manure aromatics that all shine brightly in unison. Soft, round and generous, there is a seamless quality to this wine that is apparent. Black tea, clove, cigar ash, Umami, red cherry puree and suggestions of wild blackberry cordial all marvelously combine in this utterly thrilling palate. I really enjoy this sensational Syrah at this stage in its development, and my feeling is there is no reason to cellar it for more than another seven years. Drink 2019-2026- 96 — 5 years ago

This is new to me. Similar in style to Reynvaan, Cayuse, etc?

@Shay A That’s a good question. It is similar in some ways but carries a lighter stony quality than Cayuse and is slightly more geared towards the savory side of Syrah. 🍷🙏
