Blackberry, big blueberry, a bit of raspberry, and loose, fuzzy tannins here... Ten years after the 2009 vintage, this one's still got a bit of room to run... That said, I wouldn't call this one tight... The Syrah contributes some pepper... I'll admit that Syrah-Cabernet isn't my favorite blend, but it was great revisiting this one after a memorable visit to the tasting bar at the winery over seven years ago with my buddy... We hit Naramata every summer, and though we've started sticking with our favorites, this place likely deserves a return visit. — 7 years ago

I can’t believe this is seven English pounds a bottle. It is incredible bang for your buck. Tomorrow I’ll be down to Dan Murphy’s for a dozen. — 9 years ago
Maybe, just maybe the best domestic Gamay I can recall having. Straight from the Seven Springs Vineyard, this is Evening Land's little brother wine and it shows. Soft flowers, white pepper, and delicious soil on the nose. Tart cherries, cranberries, and black earth. This baby's got the funk too. Really nice minerality and some great acidity. Light, refreshing, fruity, and so clean. Oregon delivers yet again. — 9 years ago

Still fruity and primary at seven years, slight pretty deep rose or violet to my impaired nose, cake spice and berries on palate, open since Monday night and want to hold a bit for tomorrow, still…but it’s a deep California glou-glou! — 4 years ago
Co Dinn has been crafting some classy Washington Chardonnay since his time many years back at Hogue Cellars. The new 2016 ‘Roskamp Vineyard’ Chardonnay is a delightful effort that was aged on the lees for seventeen months prior to bottling. Right out of the gate this shows off a downright sexy mouthfeel, with gobs of tension and bright orchard fruits. The exceedingly long finish lingers. This is up there with the best in the state. Enjoy this fantastic effort over the next seven to ten years, as this will pick up lovely tertiary tones as it ages. Drink 2019-2026- 93 — 7 years ago
First to rate this. 7.5% alc/vol. Label states “Made entirely from red-fleshed apples. 0ff-dry...Descendants of Kazakhstan’s wild apple forests...The pigment-rich apples yield a coral cider naturally rich in flavors of watermelon, strawberry and rhubarb”. Medium sized bubbles, foam ring persists long after pour. Coral pink in color with great clarity. Primarily apple aroma, simple profile but floral and perfumed. Crisp in mouth, very fresh tasting with a hint of unripe or green fruit character, good malic presence, moderate pulp astringency on finish. Some watermelon and strawberry character in flavor but I’m a poor identifier of rhubarb. A treat, worth seeking out. Produced in East Wenatchee WA, USA. Nanocidery makes seven ciders, 200 cases in its first year, up to 1800 cases after two years — 7 years ago
Exceptional example of a California Pinot. Need to track it down because it is worth it — 9 years ago
Just the right amount of funk - it is funky. A healthy amount of hops works to balance out the funk, not too avante-garde, a bit like a good jazz track. Something I'd love to drink again. — 10 years ago
Blend of 67% Shiraz (co-fermented with 6% Viognier), 17% Grenache and 10% Mataro, deep Ruby with aromas of red and black fruits with floral, spice and funky reductive notes. On the palate flavors of blueberry and blackberry with black pepper spice, licorice with lively spice. Dusty tannins, long finish ending with fruit, slight oak, floral and spicy notes. — 4 years ago
Wow! The merlot-led cherry cordial is hitting BP like an all-star. Solid integration even at seven years… Acid tanning with patina elegance. Radically under priced at $25, this deserves another trip around the track. tasty and versatile:) — 6 years ago
The 2016 ‘The Funk Estate’ is a stunning new wine by superstar winemaker Richard Funk of Saviah Cellars. Chosen to co-ferment 4% Viognier with Syrah, this immediately entices with bright citrus blossom aromatics that combine with the deep dark fruits, green olive, bacon fat and horse manure aromatics that all shine brightly in unison. Soft, round and generous, there is a seamless quality to this wine that is apparent. Black tea, clove, cigar ash, Umami, red cherry puree and suggestions of wild blackberry cordial all marvelously combine in this utterly thrilling palate. I really enjoy this sensational Syrah at this stage in its development, and my feeling is there is no reason to cellar it for more than another seven years. Drink 2019-2026- 96 — 7 years ago

Sleight of Hand Cellars gets it's name from Winemaker/Co-owner Trey Busch’s favorite Pearl Jam song, Sleight of Hand. He started the winery with partners Jerry and Sandy Solomon in 2007 after meeting at an auction. Since then, Sleight of Hand has become somewhat of a cult winery in Washington. The tasting room is decorated with an old jukebox and hipster inspired by rock albums. You only need to walk into the winery to see their love of Rock n' Roll. The winery also has a magic theme; which grew out of their name. All of their bottles have imagery of vintage magic posters that inspired their labels and names. It’s easy to see that the tasting room has great music and good vibe. While they make serious wines, the owners are fun, humble and only wish to make the best wine in Washington. They're on a good track. Photos of; a wide shot of the main tasting area, Trey Busch-Co-owner/Winemaker, the cover of the Pearl Jam album "Binaural"...the album that the song "Sleight of Hand" is on and the sitting area of their private tasting room. On the nose; a touch of funk, dark currants, tarry notes, savory grilled meats, pepper, iodine, blood, herbs & dark, candied, floral with violets. The palate has M+ body & tannins. Black currants, black plum, blackberries, blue fruits, dark cherries, black raspberries & raspberries. Pepper, blood, iodine, grilled meats, black licorice, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, clove, black cherry cola, fresh, red florals & violets, crushed rocks, loamy soils and big, round acidity with a beautiful, rich, elegant finish.

The 2023 Selección Especial Nº2 Victoria was sourced from a 1920-planted vineyard in Vélez-Málaga, Alta Axarquía, in the Sierras de Málaga. This late-harvest wine was aged seven months on the lees and bottled with 190 grams of sugar. Yellow in hue, it presents herbal aromas with peach and apricot notes and a faint hint of nard. Sweet and balanced on the palate, it offers an intense mouthfeel with a long-lasting savory finish. This is a delicate, well-crafted wine. (Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, September 2024)
