Molt bon vi. Deixar airejar una bona estona. — a month ago
Served double blind, the color was a brilliant, deep gold color and the bouquet was a touch wild with dried stone fruits and toasted almonds. On the palate, this came across quite fresh…and tropical! The predominate fruit character reminded me of dragon fruit a touch of lemon and an undeniable maritime influence in the form of ocean spray. The finish is bone dry and there is generous acidity. I actually found this to be even somewhat tannic? I figured there was a non-interventionalist approach to the winemaking. Regardless, I loved whatever this was despite really struggling to place it. Clearly, this was made in a more oxidative style but it didn’t really strike me as a Rioja. When this was revealed, I got really excited. I had never tried one of Luis Seabra’s wines before and now everything made sense. What a treat. Need more of this in my life! 100% Listán Blanco from vines over a century old. — 9 days ago

This outstanding clarete by Jorge Monzón of Dominio del Águila has emerged as the benchmark for the revival of Clarete. Sourced from old vineyards in La Aguilera, it is a blend of approximately 35% Tempranillo, 35% Albillo and other red and white grapes such as Bobal, Bruñal, Garnacha and Pirulés, all co-planted and fermented together. Complex, vibrant, just perfect to spend a hot summer afternoon.

16.5/20 (90/100) Аромат с нотами морёной древесины, вишни, сливы, сладких пряностей и кокоса. Тельное с высокой кислотностью и довольно интенсивными, чуть суховатыми танинами. Классическая «дубовая» Риоха. — a month ago
