Holy wow Batman! An exciting, tropical and juicy fruit forward Spanish white. Quite impressive and well balanced citrus wise. Has a little nite all along the way to keep your pallet engaged all the way through. Very well rounded and quite enjoyable. Will definitely be buying more of this! — 2 days ago
Monthly WTF group recap. Theme this month was “bring something special”. Normally we taste all of the wines blind, but we decided to do a relaxed night with amazing wines at a great restaurant. Spectacular evening!
What a treat this will be in 10yrs! Very youthful right now. I don’t know how the grapes are used here, but it was reminiscent of whole cluster Pinot. Similarities to the Antica Terra Angelical wine but more spice and denser core. Lifted and energetic profile. Smoked and slightly bloodied with iron and smoky beef jerky. The finish showed tart mulberries and baked black cherries. Oak wasn’t very noticeable. Hold. — 10 days ago
This is a natural, unfiltered wine that although produced within the DO Bierzo region, falls out of the rules of production, so it ends up with the IGT clssification. Dried flowers, blueberries, and smokey vanilla on the nose, continued floral aspects on the palate as well as fresh cherries and moist earth. Quite nice, more minerality than I expected and smooth as silk tannins. Medium finish. Price/quality relation is amazing, €15 the whole bottle at the bar in Madrid — 20 days ago
Bright violet color. Red berries, cherry pit and a hint of licorice on the expansive, spice-accented nose. Silky and seamless in texture, offering lively bitter cherry and raspberry flavors and a smoky mineral nuance that emerges with air. A floral pastille note builds on the subtly tannic finish, which hangs on with lingering spice and floral notes. (20% whole clusters; aged in neutral French oak barrels.) Light, bright yellow. Intensely perfumed aromas of ripe, mineral-accented citrus and orchard fruits, ginger and honeysuckle on the incisive, finely delineated nose. Silky, sharply focused and energetic on the palate, offering intense Meyer lemon, green apple and quinine flavors that deepen slowly on the back half. Plays power off of finesse with a smooth hand and finishes impressively long and mineral, with excellent clarity and lingering florality. I've learned over the years that this wine, an icon of the region, ages along the lines of a top-notch Chablis so don't hesitate to stash some away for further down the road. Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Strong nose of black currants, cherries, sweet strawberries, light oak, chocolates, peppercorn, dark coffee, tobacco leaf, earth, herbs, spices and black pepper.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, chocolates, coffee, earth, vanilla, licorice, spices, oak, light vegetables and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy pomegranates.
This is a nice surprise. This 7 year old Tempranillo from Spain is drinking very nicely now.
Nicely balanced and tangy, with a nice mouthfeel. Fruit forward and enjoyable by itself or with food.
This 100% Tempranillo is good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (30 minutes), and shows some tannins. Becomes very tangy on the mid palate, after 2 hours in the decanter.
I paired it with a charcuterie board of cheeses and light appetizers.
14% alcohol by volume.

In love with this tiny winery. Superb Tempranillo-based blend with some Mencía, Garnacha and other yet unidentified indigenous varieties from recently recuperated old vineyards grown at elevations of over 1,000m within the Sabinares Natural Park in Arlanza -a small and relatively unknown appellation halfway between Ribera del Duero and Rioja. Complex and balanced, dusty, pine needles, spice and balsamic notes, liquorice. Only 1002 bottles were filled in 2013 — 20 days ago
