This is what I imagine a good Toro would be: a rich and powerful rendition of Tempranillo. Blackberry, plum, licorice, fig, incense, espresso, and earth. Exuberant and dense on the palate but there is enough acidity to carry the weight. Gripping tannins.
From the founder of Bodega Numanthia, and I think this is better than the Numanthia. Wish I bought more. — a day ago
Starts out with a bit of reductive stink. Serious blackberries and tart fruits, with long acids. This can be enjoyed now with a long decant. Lots of material and extraction and concentration, ie this is a big wine, but the fruit is a bit sidelined. Generous take is this needs another 5+ years to come together. But it is pretty high tannin and drying... and way too extracted for my taste now. Maybe the fruit will stand up with time. — 17 days ago
Rich dark fruit, smooth medium full bodied, with distinct chocolate finish. Very nice. — 7 days ago
Deep Ruby, aromas of sweet red and black fruits with pepper spice and oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants with licorice, cacao, tobacco & toasty oak tones. Soft full ripe tannins, wonderful balance, lively acidity on a long finish ending with an earthy mineral character. Very nice! — 6 days ago
Deep Ruby aromas of red/ fruits with pepper spice and oak notes. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry and plum, elegant, with notes of cinnamon spice & smoky oak on fine ripe tannins. Long finish, lively acidity, nice mouthfeel, ending with vanilla and earthy mineral tones, a joy to Sip!! — 2 days ago
When a relatively inexpensive wine, that was made well with good grapes evolves into something amazing! This was an unexpected surprise. Most #verdejo is thought of as seasonal and no shelf life but this is killing it right now. #rueda #spain — 13 days ago
