Amazing that an island with such a high crime rate (based on my watching Hawaii 5-0) and violent police force (again based on what I’ve seen in Hawaii 5-0) can produce such a good beer. — 6 years ago
This is Cobra Dawn of the Dank. Last of the four and I hate to admit is the winner over the Dogfish! Poured a hazy DANK amber color into the glass. Nose of citrus and melon, almost kind of smelled like a torqued up Hefeweizen. Great hop structure. Finished really well. Almost as well as a Stone beer. But not quite! LOL, this was still a ridiculously good beer. Great way to start the weekend! — 7 years ago
This wine is amazing right now. Graphite is in the nose. Lots of ripe fruit - cherry , baked blueberry, warm baking spice along with hoisin sauce laden with soy overtones-green strawberry on the outer rim. Think Texas bar-b-q sauce with blueberry overtones. Tannins are present and wrapped up with the fruit. Excellent wine. — 6 years ago
Interesting variation on a solid beer — 6 years ago
Texas wine. I can't remember the blend and the label doesn't tell me. But it's Tempranillo based. Tastes like a Rhone blend to me. It's a big wine by Texas standards (yes I get the irony) because most Texas wines I've tried are lighter. But this is still pretty light on its feet. Shows bright acidity, but is also framed by round tannin and a touch of oak. Cigar box, blue red fruit, currant, and a touch of mocha. — 7 years ago
Big oak, watery mouth feel, spicy, dark fruit, decent acidity, nearly zero finish — 6 years ago
Big, just-off-white crown lingers over dark, orange-amber, but once it resides is nearly laceless with isolated organic, punctuating archipelagos. Initial, buttery nutritional yeast, crystalline mangrove honey, magnolias, marigold, candied lemon peel and sweet rosemary, but don't let the fig addition and the sweet aromatics fool you; sour and underripe complexity ensues. Medium-heavy, unfiltered mouthfeel feels petulant, but swallows almost flat due to the dichotomy of dryness. Dried and underripe apricot combo, pineapple essence, gooseberry, chalk, snail shell, gravel dust, dried violets, fishbone, key lime, tangerine zest, and leek. A bright, green, mineral-driven offering. #farmcharm #saison #Darbyste #biere #bier #beer #brasseriedeblaugies #artisinale #nonfiltre #wit #blanche #bierdarbyste #belgian #belgianbeer #familyowned — 7 years ago

Visiting Fredericksburg TX for a few days. This is TX hill country and has a big winery community. Never tried any TX wines before but found a few surprises here. We tasted at Becker earlier today but not this wine. $30 on the restaurant wine list. Becker wasn’t our favorite stop but it is the only local winery represented on their list. Overall local wines seemed overpriced compared to CA wines. Just realized we had an older vintage (2018) on our last trip from Houston to Anaheim. It’s interesting that most of the grapes used in the local wines come from Lubbock (panhandle) area. Don’t know where these grapes came from, or what varietals are present. — 3 years ago
