first romorantin! very mineral, lots of salt, highly acidic at the front. smells spiced and like quince and a little pear. would be good w something buttery — 9 months ago
Empty bottle shot? Yes, it was that good.
It’s too bad you can’t see the lovely transparent, but electric Fuschia color. Lots of time in contact with the skins — 12 hour maceration and lovingly foot tread prior to press, so drinks more like a light red than a white. There’s real Pinot fruit and Santa Cruz mountain character here: strawberries, rose hips, stones, fresh herbs, cool breezes blowing through the redwoods. Many layers. Rosé of the summer. — 4 years ago

Nice wine to finish the evening with a crème brûlée. Not too sweet. Apricot, honey with some crispness. — 5 years ago
Fruit forward, Concord grape on nose. Slight spice. — 6 years ago
From White Horse Wine and Spirits. Nothing jumping out at me. Maybe apples, lemon, a bit of salt? — 2 months ago

I didn’t know it was possible to enjoy a Pinot Gris this much (outside of Friuli or Alsace). This unfiltered, 3-days-on-the-skins version from Tessier is evocative and vivid: golden apple, white peach, pennyroyal, bergamot. A single-vineyard wine from Filigreen Farm, a self-sustaining, biodynamically famed vineyard in the Anderson Valley. — 5 years ago

I think this is my favorite wine I've ever drank. Period. No lies. 15/10 — 3 years ago
Revisiting this first release of Fenaughty Vineyard Syrah 2 years later and I really like where it’s headed. Less fresh and crunchy and more resolved and elegant, showing its depth and layers. fleshy black cherry, strawberry, pastille, dried herbs, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, incense and a granitic note. Reminiscent of Cru Beaujolais more than northern Rhone. 12.6% abv. An intriguing alpine California Syrah and an ideal pairing with rustic Berkeley-bought, French-inspired fare. — 4 years ago

Fresh. Nice tart finish. — 5 years ago
This takes it's time to open up, blossoming slowly with sweet violets, lavender, wild strawberries and clove. It's soft and juicy, contrasted by nervous acids, tart raspberry and blackberries mixed with autumnal spice. There's something decidedly purple about this thirst quenching Mourvedre as it finishes long yet wonderfully refreshing. — 6 years ago
