This is a young but great Barolo. With air, the nose shows beautiful, intense cherry fruit, minerally gravel, licorice, and yes, tar and faded roses. Damn. Really good depth of flavor, nice acidity, lots of fine-grained tannin. Maybe not a 20 year wine but this will get even better over the next several years. — 5 years ago

I don’t remember liking my prior bottle of this, drunk 2 or 3 years ago, as much as this bottle. This pretty promptly displays a boisterous nose of strawberry, cherry, crushed stone, moist underbrush, and faded rose petals. Quite full in the mouth, it’s assertive and shows fairly deep flavors of dried cherry and leather. The only drawback is that its frame (alcohol and tannin) is maybe a bit too prominent for my taste in the back half of the palate. Good acids. For me, with modern global warming Barolo, the risk is that the alcohol burns through the fruit before the tannins soften. In the next 2-4 years I think this will be in the sweet spot. — 4 months ago
Need to buy more! Earthy with light fruit — 7 years ago
Immediately reminded me of stepping into a winery. Wonderful balance but deep flavor. — 9 years ago
Different story from last bottle. This one still sharp with dark fruits, sweet liquorice, sage and razor sharp acids. Very nice. — 7 years ago
