100% Vermentino
Light crisp and refreshing. Good food wine, as well as stand alone sipper. Character is light, golden straw, Sierra Foothill terrior. 13.3 ABV. Still relevant and very enjoyable on day three of being opened. Discovered at Ruthe Roberts Wine Collective.

Inky dark color. Nose of dark berries, spice, wood, earth. Very well integrated on palate with obvious oak and long finish. Quite a big wine but time has tamed it. Good pairing with meats from Chinatown cafe. 80 Tanner 20% cab and aged in oak. GL $25 post DR. More years to go! — 8 years ago
So. Last night cooked a rack of dry-rubbed ribs in my Instant Pot. Tonight topped with Kinders BBQ sauce and put under broiler for a few minutes (best ribs I've had in years!!). Paired with mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts, and this most delicious wine from Tanner Vineyards (Sierra Foothills). Some moments the cherry fruit stood out, others pepper, tobacco, and soft oak. Each sip a delight. Nice balanced acid too, I might add. Of course, now wish I had more bottles in my cellar. I guess I will just have to revisit the winery. Darn. (Mourvèdre, Carignane, Petit Syrah, syrah.) $26
Ps: I used smoked paprika instead of regular.

2021 Rosé wine, Columbia Valley. Produced and bottled by City Limits, Mattawa WA. “In loving memory of Tanner Lee. #BeatCancer” says the back label. Excellent clarity, harvest orange in color. Dry, red fruit flavors with a touch of seed tannin - tangerine, cherry, herb or weed too (not cannabis, pilgrims) though the online comments elsewhere suggest rhubarb. Fruit is restrained in intensity but lengthy, skin flavors are austere. Grenache and Sangiovese, maybe? This vintage is a blend of Grenache and Zin, but the varieties change from vintage to vintage. It does taste like a punk version of a dry rosé, crisp. Bone dry makes it different in terms of the flavor profile. A touch of skin astringency is all the tannin you get. Lightly gritty if not dusty, like life on your board. Strangely, I like it, not that you should care. I’m disaffected but the wine? Very cleverly crafted. I’ll be buying more — 3 years ago
Smooth, velvety and fruity with a warm mouth coating feel. Tastes of cherry and black currants. Pairs well with bacon and ice cream. — 6 years ago

With few exceptions (Alban and Storybook Mountain comes to mind) I rarely find domestic Viognier to rock my boat.
Well...let's just say that I'm overboard with this one.
Very clean, elegant, crisp and just plain delicious!!
