2021 Rosé wine, Columbia Valley. Produced and bottled by City Limits, Mattawa WA. “In loving memory of Tanner Lee. #BeatCancer” says the back label. Excellent clarity, harvest orange in color. Dry, red fruit flavors with a touch of seed tannin - tangerine, cherry, herb or weed too (not cannabis, pilgrims) though the online comments elsewhere suggest rhubarb. Fruit is restrained in intensity but lengthy, skin flavors are austere. Grenache and Sangiovese, maybe? This vintage is a blend of Grenache and Zin, but the varieties change from vintage to vintage. It does taste like a punk version of a dry rosé, crisp. Bone dry makes it different in terms of the flavor profile. A touch of skin astringency is all the tannin you get. Lightly gritty if not dusty, like life on your board. Strangely, I like it, not that you should care. I’m disaffected but the wine? Very cleverly crafted. I’ll be buying more
