A stained cork from bottom to top gave me pause. Phew! All good. Dusty notes dominate early on with stewed plumbs and Aussie scrub (underbrush) not far behind. Let’s see where we are in an hour. Sixty minutes on firmly delivers with a weighty 65% Cab Sauv with, dare I say it, a slight nod to Napa. Chewy tannins with continuous dust rounds it all out. I like this wine. As to down the road…I think we’ve arrived au point. — 4 years ago
Not too sweet and not too dry, very balanced Riesling. Had it at sixty vines! — 5 years ago
I can’t even believe saying this about an Iowa wine but ... wow! Floral and jammy with strawberry and blueberry fruit that give way to a vanilla, almost buttery finish. I know that sounds weird for a red blend but I’ve got to hand it to the guys from Cedar Ridge - I was wrong about Iowa wine. A great everyday wine. — 6 years ago

[Tasted on May 12, 2024 at etc. in Nashville]
Wine is J. Bucher Three Sixty Bucher Vineyard, a seven-barrel blend from five blocks including four Pinot Noir clones. Purchased wine at Nashville Wine Auction tasting with John and Diane Bucher. Bright dark fruit, spice, cedar and clove. — 2 years ago
First time trying Soave (that I can recall!), though Pieropan is one of those producers so iconic in the world of wine that even a non-Soave drinker will likely have come across. This is their entry level cuvée, as opposed to the single-vineyard Calvarino and La Rocca bottlings. It’s 85% Garganega with the rest Trebbiano, from vines anything up to sixty years on volcanic soils. It has a gold, quite saturated hue and benefits from a half-hour decant.
I have to say, this is a very decent wine that took me by surprise. As someone who’s never tried Soave before, I found it comparable to a South African Chenin Blanc but with much lesser acidity. There’s a gorgeous aroma of orange peel that’s complemented by toasted almonds, fresh lime, and a hint of yoghurt. The palate is refreshing, with a very attractive balance of lime, Granny Smith apple and pink grapefruit flavours, with good acidity and - for this price point - a satisfyingly long finish.
This is a value discovery for me and one I’ll buy from here on.

Big extracted style! Fig, blackberry..plum..sour cherries and earth! Sixty min. decant
Not quite as ready as the 2015 at this stage.
This wine is smooth as can be absolutely no heat! Presents short on the finish would like to see if this changes over time! Delicious... if I had another bottle I would give it a few years! 😉
Has anyone else posted a wine before that shows on main feed...but never shows under your personal wine list?...glitches...🤷♂️ — 6 years ago

What a joy! On the lighter spectrum but oozing globs of raspberries with just a hint of dust. Gains a tad more weight sixty minutes in, but its youthful exuberance maintains. Looking for a perfect red to match with fish?...Eureka! I'm all in on this one. — 8 years ago
First pour of the vintage for me. Smells like I just pulled fresh table grapes off the stem. Initial flavors of red fruit herbs and something floral, followed by unripe plum and cola. Light bodied but medium pigment extraction. After sixty minutes, flavors integrate. — 2 years ago
Had on tap at Sixty Vines. Lemony and acidic and easy to drink. Note to self - buy some cans! — 5 years ago

Medium ruby; pronounced intensity, strawberry, raspberry, red cherry, blueberry, violet, vanilla, black pepper, menthol, youthful; dry, medium (+) acidity, medium tannin, medium alcohol, medium body, raspberry, red cherry, blueberry, violet, vanilla, black pepper menthol, medium (+) finish; can drink now, but has potential for ageing, outstanding — 6 years ago
Not for sipping unless a good sixty minutes before in a decanter. Typical characteristics of a CCR...plus some good old "Gaul women" smoke on the back end. Will go beautifully with tonight's charred fatty T-bone. A few left in the cellar...drink up...its arrived...and will only head South from here. — 8 years ago
