Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey

Sieur Sauternes White Blend 2014

Chateau dates back to 13th century, originally used as fortress. 1st known owner was Sieur Raymond Peyraguey, purchasing the property in 1618. In January 2014, Silvio Denz purchased Chateau from GDF Suez. Balanced and fruity, this ripe, sweet wine delivers both botrytis-like character and generous fruit. It has fine acidity to cut through the richness, giving intense sweetness. Drinks well. Bottle age will benefit. — 3 months ago

2014 vintage. Still some decent tannins. Great earthy tones and black fruits. — a month ago

Ciabot Manzoni Barolo Nebbiolo 1998

Why we drink Nebbiolo. This is just entering a prime which I’d guess would see it still gaining in complexity for another 10’s regal and commanding, yet quite relaxed and very much the kind of Barolo that compels you to slow down and pay attention rather than trying to wow you with a flash and a bang that’ll disappear in an instant. One of the very few Barolos from the late 90s that has rolled over into a sweetness on the nose and palate. The savor comes in secondary aromas and tastes of porcini and game livers. Extraordinary. — 2 months ago

Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

Delectable Wine

The 2015 Rosso di Montalcino is an attractive wine to drink now and over the next few years, while the flavors remain vibrant. Sweet pipe tobacco, crushed flowers, worn-in leather and dried cherries are all nicely laced together in this mid-weight, inviting Rosso. This is very nicely done.
