This Sangiovese wine is 12 years old now, and it is almost brown, with garnet only at the core. The nose is amazing, showing dried cherry, leather and black olive aromas. The palate is savory and lithe, with tannins that are no longer youthful but still firm. It is still a good wine to pair with a steak or Bolognese sauce.

Fantastic Rosso - brimming with fruit and rich spices. Some oak, almost cedar in the nose, plus vanilla and a hint of nutmeg. The fruit is sweet and strong, plums and dark cherry skins with a wonderful blueberry-ish overlay. Drank well with steak au poivre and tater tots (no kidding). Awesome wine!

Good, but not great. Has hints of complexity and some well-rounded notes of darker fruit, but the nose is thin as is the majority of the taste. May open more with time.
